Job summary

Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is hiring Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health needs across ICF, Waiver, and Day Support programs.

You will provide person-centered direct care, help individuals build daily living skills, increase independence, participate in community activities, and work toward personal goals.

Qualifications

• One year of direct care experience with adults living with IDD or mental illness.
• Experience in an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) or Waiver/Day Support settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on direct care based on each individual's needs and service plan.
• Assist with activities of daily living, meal preparation, and medication support.
• Encourage independence, monitor health and well-being, document changes, and maintain a safe environment.

Hourly Pay: $18.17-$20.44 per hour

Shift Differential: Earn an additional $2.50 per hour for eligible evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.

Schedule: Flexible part-time schedules available, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is hiring Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and mental health needs in our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), Waiver, and Day Support programs.

As a DSP, you'll provide person-centered direct care while helping individuals strengthen daily living skills, increase independence, participate in their communities, and work toward personal goals.

Minimum Qualifications

• Intermediate Care Facility (ICF): One year of direct care experience working with adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, or experience working in an Intermediate Care Facility.
• Waiver & Day Support: One year of direct care experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities or mental illness.

What You'll Do

Provide hands-on direct care and support based on each individual's needs and service plan. Responsibilities may include personal care, hygiene, activities of daily living, meal preparation, medication support, household routines, community outings, recreational activities, and skill development.

In our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) settings, DSPs may provide total-care assistance, including using a Hoyer lift for safe transfers and mobility support.

You’ll encourage independence and choice, monitor individuals' health and well-being, report changes as needed, complete accurate documentation, and work with team members to maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
