Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position is the primary specialist for assigned applications as an instructional designer for both system steady-state/maintenance training and system go-live training. The training will be used across the Health System for users of our Electronic Medical Record system. In addition, the role will also provide system documentation and build analysis, leveraging knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and business operations to coordinate training and address non-training issues during installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Serves as the primary point person for respective application regarding training and instructional design needs, partnering with application leadership, peers, and external partners, and leads projects of medium complexity.
  2. Designs training content and materials to support organizational change, application adoption, and efficiency; collaborates with EMR vendors and others to create effective training materials and learning communications.
  3. Collaborates with IS&T and operational leadership to drive priorities and system integration efficiencies, escalating and resolving barriers as needed.
  4. Develops learning tools and job aids based on application specifications, technical designs, and system changes.
  5. Coordinates with external partners/vendors to ensure smooth content transition and trains vendor specialists to ensure proper training delivery to Jefferson application users.
  6. Performs in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and technical issues related to applications.
  7. Assists in evaluating operational needs; validates workflows, builds, and configurations based on application requirements.
  8. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff in alignment with Jefferson's values.

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Ensures deliverables adhere to brand guidelines and translate into compelling training solutions.
  • Estimates and communicates development and testing requirements, resource needs, and timelines.
  • Serves as a liaison with vendors to ensure proper delivery and service levels for application end-user training.
  • Develops and documents procedures for system changes and other tasks.
  • Troubleshoots problems and responds to end-user questions.
  • Analyzes application content and negotiates user-requested modifications.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:

Epic certification required; Epic Radiant, Cupid, Lumens certifications preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 4 years of experience in healthcare, information systems, or healthcare IT.
