Salary: $5,319 - $6,968 (depending on experience)

Position Overview

All coaching contracts are offered on a seasonal basis only. Reapplication for coaching positions is required annually.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide a positive learning environment for athletes.
  • Teach skills necessary for successful performance.
  • Manage athlete behavior during training sessions, meets, and events.
  • Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
  • Uphold school rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Attend all scheduled meets and events.
  • Set a positive role model for students.
  • Attend coaches' meetings.

Qualifications

Experience with students and the sport/activity. Certification through the NFHS Coaches Certification Program (ASEP) is required before the season starts. First Aid Certification, Bloodborne Pathogen, and Coaches Certification training are required and can be obtained through the district.

Special Requirements

The candidate must verify identity and employment authorization, complete a pre-employment record check, and be approved by the Oregon Department of Education after a Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Verification. Costs include $10-$20 for fingerprint transmission and $70 for the verification check.
