Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is seeking a Veterinary Technician for overnight shifts in Utah. The role requires evaluating incoming patients, assisting DVM, and providing nursing care in a fast-paced ER environment. Candidates should have or be pursuing a State-registered RVT license and prior emergency experience.

Strong client communication and teamwork are essential. The position offers overnight hours Sunday to Tuesday, with on-site work at our Sunset location.

Qualifications

• RVt license preferred and required by state regulations
• Emergency veterinary experience preferred
• Strong math and drug calculation skills
• Able to communicate clearly with clients and team members

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize by assessment
• Collaborate with care team on treatment plans and nursing care
• Educate clients on home care, meds, and wellness of hospitalized patients
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Perform in-house lab tests and prep samples for outside labs

Veterinary Technician - Overnights

Proposed Schedule: Sunday-Tuesday 7p-7a

Our Emergency team is the perfect place fortechnicianswho thrive in a fast-paced environment, can shift gears quickly and handle the stress of critical situations with ease. Every day is different and there’s never the same case twice!

What you’ll do:

• Record and deliver organized rounds,discuss casesandgather additionalinformation as necessary
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment
• Partner withpatient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
• Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce and monitor general anesthesiaandsedation procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testingandprepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Who you are:

• State Registered Veterinary Technician licensepreferred
• Prior veterinary experience required, previousemergencyexperience desired
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
