Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Northfield, IL is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Critical Care team. This full-time role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

As an ICU/Critical Care Technician, you will triage, obtain patient history, identify at-risk patients, and initiate CPR when needed. You will place IVs and advanced catheters, monitor ventilator cases, and work with a skilled team to restore health and reunite pets with their families.

Qualifications

• Active veterinary license required.
• Experience in ICU/critical care preferred.
• Night/weekend/holiday availability required.

Responsibilities

• Triage and obtain patient history.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Place IVs and advanced catheters (jugular, central lines, PICC).
• Monitor and care for ventilator cases.
• Collaborate with other technicians and assistants to deliver advanced medicine.
• Mentor and train co-workers.
