Job summary

Tufts VETS in Walpole, MA is seeking a qualified ICU Veterinary Technician to join our VECCS level 1 certified emergency and critical care team. The role requires delivering high-quality nursing care to hospitalized animals, performing procedures, and maintaining meticulous medical records.

Ideal candidates have a veterinary technology degree, VT certification, and a minimum of two years in emergency/critical care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Degree in Veterinary Technology and/or Animal Science preferred.
• Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT) required.
• VECCS or VTS desirable for advanced credentialing.
• Minimum of 2 years in veterinary field; emergency/critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products safely.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and treatment records.
• Assist with advanced nursing procedures and anesthesia monitoring.
