Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; six months to one year of related work experience in a veterinary practice, maintaining accurate records, typing and basic computer skills; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians, veterinary technicians and clinical students with animal patients in the Small Animal Emergency Medicine Unit.
• Monitor temperature, pulse and respiration; monitor IV fluid administration.
• Walk animals outside and assist with handling.
• Process lab samples and medication orders; enter charges in the hospital information system.
• Clean ward areas and stock supplies.
