Job summary

TotalMed RN in West Des Moines, IA is seeking an ICU Travel Nurse for a travel assignment. The position is 13 weeks long with 36 hours per week, consisting of 12-hour night shifts.

The traveler should have 1–2 years of recent acute care ICU experience and current ACLS/BLS certifications. As an ICU Travel Nurse, you will evaluate and monitor patients, document physician-directed care, and support families while coordinating with the care team.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care ICU experience.
• ACLS, BLS; NIH certifications may be required before starting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and monitor ICU patients.
• Administer medications, document and report adverse reactions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and interpret lab results.
• Operate and monitor ICU equipment and ensure catheter/lead placement.
• Communicate patient conditions to families and coordinate with the care team.
