Job summary

TotalMed RN in West Des Moines, IA is seeking ICU Travel Nurse opportunities. The role focuses on evaluating and monitoring ICU patients, delivering direct patient care, and coordinating with the care team for timely interventions. The position is 13 weeks long with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience and appropriate critical care certifications such as ACLS and BLS. Benefits include weekly pay and comprehensive coverage.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications required with 2 years acute care experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and monitor ICU patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and record treatments.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests; interpret results.
• Monitor equipment, ensure catheter and tubing placement.
• Communicate patient conditions to family members.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to adjust care plans.
• Educate and support patient families on care needs.
