Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift in Washington. Requires active WA or compact RN license, at least 2 years ICU experience, and certifications in BLS/ACLS/NIHSS; TNCC preferred.

The role includes 3x12-hour nights (19:00–7:30) with floating to sister facilities as needed, Floats with Epic EMR, Spacelabs telemetry, and Lifepak equipment. Travel RN housing and licensure reimbursements are available.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; TNCC preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and care of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure patients.
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line and central line management, continuous IV sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols.
• Experience in Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Trauma ICU, or Medical ICU settings preferred.
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required.
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Treats sepsis, post cardiac arrest, IABP, COVID, respiratory failure, severe multi-system organ issues, and stroke patients in a general ICU setting.
• Night shift; 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30.
• Uses Spacelabs telemetry monitors, Lifepak defibrillators and transport monitors, Belmont rapid infusers for MTP, IABP, and PA catheters.
• Ventilator management required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Floating as needed to sister facilities.
• Provide critical care nursing to a high-acuity ICU patient population.
• Floating between sister facilities within the region may be required.
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day).
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Providence facility transfers require 3-month separation and residency outside 50-mile radius for return as travel RN.
• Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate.
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles to qualify for local status.
