Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a National Internal Traveler RN to provide direct clinical nursing care within scope of practice. You will perform independent patient care, apply advanced nursing skills, and participate in ongoing education to enhance knowledge and practice.

The role emphasizes adaptability, proactive professional development, and delivering high-quality patient care in dynamic settings across facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty areas such as medical/surgical, telemetry, ICU, ED, OR, PACU, pediatrics, or maternal-child health.
• ADN or Nursing Diploma required.
• Current unencumbered RN license in practice state(s) or compact state license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Other credentials may be required depending on specialty and facility.
• Certifications in specialty preferred; ongoing competencies to support care area.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
• Anticipates, identifies, and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families.
• Guides and directs healthcare personnel in caring for patients.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (i.e., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices).
• Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., CPR, protecting patient from injury).
• Assists with patient care duties/tasks (i.e., drainage devices, ambulating, and hygiene).
