Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN in Tacoma, WA for an ICU float pool assignment. Expect 36 hours weekly, nights, with a 12‑hour shift and a weekend rotation.

Required: WA RN license, 1+ year ICU experience, and Epic EMR proficiency; Telemetry competency exam must be passed before starting. Travel and licensure reimbursements are offered along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active WA RN license (in hand or pending with proof of application).
• Minimum 1 year ICU experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory.
• Telemetry competency exam must be completed prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU float pool covering ICU, PCU/CCU, and ED holding units.
• Care for neuro, trauma, medical, surgical, cardiac, and COVID patients.
• Manage patients with sepsis, pneumonia, DKA, CHF, respiratory compromise, trauma, strokes, and post‑op cardiovascular surgeries.
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 in ICU and 1:4 in PCU/CCU.
• May float to nearby Allenmore Hospital if needed.
• Night shifts are 12 hours with every other weekend required.
