In addition to clinical duties, the ICU Assistant must monitor critically ill patients, calculate and dose medications accurately, communicate effectively with the care team, and adapt quickly to changing patient needs.

Qualifications

Preferred experience: previous work in a specialty/ICU setting as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant.

Required knowledge and skills: ability to place IV, nasal, and urinary catheters; competency in medication calculations; strong communication skills; and a capacity to learn quickly.

Required license or certification: None.

Salary

Hourly rate: $22.50 – $28.50, commensurate with experience.
