Job summary

Dallas Center United Methodist is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Methodist Southwest Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a PRN night schedule in Dallas, TX. The nurse will render high-level nursing care, perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care while supporting the hospital’s mission and values.

Responsibilities include patient education, teamwork, accurate documentation, and safe medication administration within a Magnet-recognized, high-acuity ICU setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Current license to practice nursing in Texas or eligibility to do so.
• Work experience: Six months RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment through communication and teamwork.
• Assumes responsibility for the nursing components of patient/family education.
• Communicates with the team, patients, and families and verifies understanding.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and facility.
• Ensures complete, accurate, and timely written communication of patient information.
• Delivers safe medication and IV administration.
• Takes personal responsibility for performance and professional growth.
• Applies the nursing process to ensure quality care throughout the episode.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
