Job summary

Sierra Donor Services in New Mexico is seeking an Organ Recovery Coordinator with ICU/critical care nursing background to oversee organ donation processes from assessment to transplantation. This role collaborates with clinical teams, surgeons, and hospital staff to ensure timely and safe procurement and allocation of organs.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years in critical care, an active RN license, and the ability to multitask and coordinate under pressure, with flexible day/night

Qualifications

• Two plus years in a critical care setting.
• RN license and valid drivers license.
• Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consulting with medical staff.
• Coordinates organ placement and allocation with transplant programs and surgeons.
• Assists in surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management, including logistics and lab specimen preparation.
• Supports donor families and conducts medical/social history interviews.
• Updates donor information into the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Other duties as assigned.
