Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse for per diem night shifts. The ICU RN will provide intensive care to critically ill patients, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with the medical team to adjust care plans. Prior ICU experience and ability to work nights are essential.

The role requires an RN license, BLS, ACLS, and arrhythmia interpretation within specified timelines. Per diem status implies as-needed scheduling and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a Registered Nurse is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions
• Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters
• Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors
• Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided
• Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients
