Job summary

Detroit Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU in Detroit, Michigan. This staff position requires graduation from a nursing program and Michigan RN licensure, with BSN preferred and AHA BLS certification.

The RN leads patient care for a group of patients and families, collaborating with physicians and the health care team. The role includes leadership, teaching and supervising responsibilities with a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of nursing required.
• Licensed to practice as an RN in Michigan required.
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• The RN is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and ensures nursing care is completed satisfactorily by the nursing team.
• Manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families using independent judgment and collaboration with all team members.
• Exhibits leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching and supervision within the unit.
• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
• Delegates, assesses, provides and evaluates patient care.
• Monitors patient progress and prepares patients for discharge.
