Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Registered Nurse in the ICU at Jefferson Hospital in Jefferson Hills, PA. This full-time role focuses on critical care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced environment.

The RN will lead in professional practice, delegate tasks as appropriate, and participate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and safety. CPR and PA eNLC licensure are required, with background clearances as specified.

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR certification is required.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Preferred certification in area of specialty.

Responsibilities

• Assess human responses and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Provide leadership in a professional practice setting.
• Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels.
• Provide feedback regarding clinical practice and role performance.
• Participate on interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care.
• Promote patient safety initiatives and participate in quality initiatives.
• Utilize the nursing process to develop patient care plans.
• Analyze health status and determine patient care needs.
• Assess patient condition changes and notify physicians as needed.
• Promote compassionate communication that is patient and family centered.
