Job summary

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU is part of the Patient Care Services Team in Michigan. You will deliver high-quality nursing care for a designated group of patients and families, using independent judgment, collaboration, and communication across the care team.

Responsibilities include establishing relationships with physicians, delegating and evaluating care, preparing patients for discharge, and contributing to shared decision-making with unit leadership.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Licensed to practice as an RN in the state of Michigan required.
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
• Delegates, assesses, provides and evaluates patient care.
• Provides and delegates patient care activities to team members.
• Monitors patient progress and prepares patient for discharge.
• Reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making activities.
