• Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or as RN per Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred; current RI RN licensure required; care for patients across lifespan.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads by delegating, supervising and participating in safe nursing care with ancillary staff.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with healthcare team, patient, family and community services on discharge planning.
• Assesses and provides teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Utilizes resources to deliver quality, cost-effective patient care.
• Maintains clinical competencies per credentialing standards and safety education.
• Identifies growth needs and participates in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
• Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities for the unit as delegated.
