ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Kingwood, West Virginia 26537 (West Virginia nursing jobs)
• Facility: Community Hospital ICU (2 beds)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nurse Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00pm – 7:30am), weekdays and every other weekend
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680–$1730
• Orientation: 16 hours (includes modules)
• EMR System: CPSI
• Scrubs: Wine and/or burgundy (not provided)
  
  

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active West Virginia or Compact RN license (pending acceptable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience in a hospital setting
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (American Heart Association)
• CCRN certification preferred
• At least 2 manager or charge nurse references within the past 2 years
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Permanent address must be at least 100 miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
  
  

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to adult and geriatric ICU patients
• Perform conscious sedation, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and chest tubes
• Administer blood products and emergency medications
• Interpret ABGs, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Care for patients with multi-system organ failure, acute stroke, and renal failure
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, etc.)
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Float to other hospital units as required
