Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric Special Care Unit in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The RN will plan and implement professional nursing care for pediatric patients and may assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.

The unit is a 7-bed pediatric track unit, emphasizing safe, quality care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. BLS and NC RN licensure are required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred, with relocation assistance

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current licensure in North Carolina as RN or Compact state licensure

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and identify care needs
• Organize and implement patient care
• Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
• Administer medications as ordered
• Assist as charge nurse when assigned
• Maintain patient care records
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening situations
• Collaborate with health system staff and medical staff
• Monitor care quality using outcome indicators
• Contribute to cost containment and accurate charging
• Adapt care for age-specific needs
• Respect patients' cultural and spiritual beliefs within clinical guidelines
