Job summary

Cayuga Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled ICU Registered Nurse for night shift at our Elmira, NY campus. You will provide high-acuity care, collaborate with physicians and care teams, and continuously monitor complex patient needs in a fast-paced ICU setting.

Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, and meticulous documentation, with a focus on evidence-based practice and patient advocacy. Eligible for a substantial sign-on bonus and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current NYS nursing licensure, limited permit or eligible.
• BLS & ACLS Required or obtained within 30 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop appropriate nursing diagnoses, goals, and care plans based on clinical findings.
• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate patient care while addressing physical, psychological, emotional, and educational needs.
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, outcomes, and care provided in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and optimize care delivery.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise, sound judgment, and adherence to established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practices.
• Respond effectively to emergency situations, prioritize patient needs, and utilize available resources efficiently.
• Advocate for patient rights and provide ethical, age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered care.
• Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, teamwork, leadership, delegation, and problem-solving skills.
• Participate in professional development, quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and organizational goals while maintaining accountability for personal and professional practice.
