Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's White Oak Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit. The role emphasizes patient and family education across the care continuum and advancing knowledge under senior guidance.

The position requires Maryland RN licensure, NCLEX, BLS, and 1 year of RN experience. Responsibilities include professional practice per ANA standards, mentoring, and evidence-based care with day shifts and weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing score on NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while also striving to advance their own knowledge and skills through guidance provided by more senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and exemplify Adventist HealthCare values in our nursing mission and vision.
• Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition accurately and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice based on evidence.
