Job summary

Humboldt-Park-Health in Chicago seeks an experienced Registry RN (ICU) to plan, provide, supervise, and document professional nursing care per physician orders and hospital policies.

You will collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the healthcare team to develop a robust plan of care, document observations in the EHR, and educate patients and families prior to discharge. ICU/CCU experience is required, along with BLS certification and an RN license.

Qualifications

• 1+ year ICU experience is required.
• Current RN licensure is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Medical Surgical experience or critical care experience is required.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise, and document nursing care per physician orders and policies.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians and the healthcare team to develop a care plan.
• Chart patient observations in the electronic health record.
• Provide safe, effective nursing care with critical thinking and ethical practice.
• Supervise assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in patient care delivery.
• Assess patient condition changes and report to physician.
• Perform interventions per plan of care and hospital policies.
• Participate in QA/Process Improvement to improve patient safety.
• Educate patient/family prior to discharge about diagnosis, meds, and instructions.
• Collect blood specimens for lab analysis as needed.
