Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU at Liberty Hospital. You will utilize the nursing process to coordinate care, provide safe, holistic treatment, and mentor the team while addressing the psychosocial and cultural needs of patients and families.

Responsibilities include medication safety, triage, critical thinking, and delivering complex nursing care, including oncology-related treatments as prescribed.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate
• Associate Degree Nursing
• Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) – Kansas or Missouri (or compact license)
• CPR/AED/BLS; other unit-specific certifications may be required

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital policies related to medication safety and order writing format.
• Answers patient/significant others' calls, evaluates needs, and triages patient care.
• Intervenes timely to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Delivers direct nursing care, including chemotherapy, blood components, fluids and electrolytes as prescribed.
• Leads and mentors the team to foster a safe and productive work environment.
