Job summary

Research Medical Center in Kansas is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team. The RN will advocate for patients and families, teach and support self-management, and ensure documentation reflects care provided.

Responsibilities include teaching patients and families, coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team, and advancing evidence-based practices to meet quality measures and outcomes.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• RN license/registration in state of employment.
• Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse (TNCC) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 1 year of start date.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures such as diet and exercise, and self-management.
• Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet quality measures and enhance patient care.
