The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering individualized, goal-directed nursing care by utilizing the nursing process and principles of primary nursing, following hospital policies and procedures. The RN provides comprehensive care, treatment, counseling, and health education to hospitalized patients, ensuring coordination of care across the continuum. This role actively supports core measure compliance, reduces length of stay (LOS), and participates in quality, safety, and performance improvement activities. The RN collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, physicians, and the public, meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements established by the Department of Health Services (DHS), The Joint Commission (TJC), and other governing agencies.

• Assess and diagnose patient and family needs to deliver high-quality care.
• Develop, communicate, and implement an individualized plan of care for each patient in collaboration with the patient and family.
• Demonstrate clinical skills and judgment in executing medical plans of care, nursing interventions, and procedures.
• Reassess and evaluate patient responses to care, ensuring continuous quality improvement.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided to support seamless integration of information.
• Stay current with knowledge, certifications, and licensure per hospital policy, pursuing professional growth and development.
• Serve as a role model for current and new staff members.
• Perform all ICU-specific responsibilities to address the unique needs of patients, including age-specific considerations.
• Attend mandatory safety training and demonstrate understanding of safety responsibilities, department protocols, and job-related hazards.
• Adhere to Hospital Exposure Control Plans for Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and courteous environment for patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
• Foster effective working relationships and contribute to department goals and objectives.
• Assume additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
