Job summary

UPMC Mercy Health Center is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to support the 8A Neuro ICU. This full-time role requires delivering core nursing assistant functions, including ADLs, vital signs, I&O, and specialized unit tasks, with emphasis on patient-centered care.

Candidates with prior healthcare experience are preferred, and those without may attend a 3-day mandatory training course.

Qualifications

• Previous healthcare experience strongly preferred.
• Be able to perform Nursing Assistant duties per unit policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine patient care and supports department services per policies and procedures.
• Performs ADLs including bathing, feeding, transport, toileting, ambulation, turning and repositioning patients.
• Performs point of care testing (e.g., blood glucose), weights, vital signs, I&O, telemetry monitor application/reapplication.
