Job summary

VCU Health's Medical Respiratory Intensive Care Unit seeks skilled patient-care professionals to support a 28-bed ICU serving complex pulmonary and multisystem cases. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, monitor vital signs, and assist with comprehensive nursing plans in a high-acuity critical care setting.

Ideal candidates have a High School degree, CNA/EMS training, and BLS certification, with healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician experience is valued.
• Experience within a healthcare environment.
• Completion of nursing foundations/clinical rotation may be considered equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct care to patients in the unit with age-appropriate considerations.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate updates to the care team.
• Maintain a clean, stocked unit environment and assist with routines and procedures.
• Record initial and ongoing patient information per policy and plan of care.
