Job summary

The Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Association seeks a dedicated RN to provide thorough patient assessments and ensure safe medication administration. Ideal candidates will have an Associate Degree in Nursing and at least two years of nursing experience, preferably in an ICU unit.

Responsibilities include patient advocacy, maintaining accurate nursing records, and initiating essential nursing procedures. BLS certification and a current Nebraska RN license are required, with ACLS certification to be obtained within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• 2 years of nursing experience or previous preceptorship within ICU unit preferred.
• BLS certification and current RN license from the State of NE required.
• ACLS certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Performs complete patient assessments and communicates to the providers.
• Documents and maintains accurate nursing records.
• Functions as patient advocate between patient, physicians, other healthcare providers, administration, etc., as needed, and interacts professionally with patients and family members.
• Initiates diagnostic, preventative and rehabilitative nursing procedures as appropriate to the patient's care and safety.
• Administers medications to patients in accordance with approved standards of nursing knowledge and competency, based on age of patient, patient's clinical condition and physician orders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• EDUCATION: Associate Degree in Nursing required (Bachelor's preferred).
• EXPERIENCE: 2 years of nursing or previous preceptorship within ICU unit at MLH preferred.
• CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: BLS certification required. Current registered nursing (RN) license or Temporary permit from the State of NE required. ACLS certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
