Job summary

AdventHealth Overland Park is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Intensive Care Unit. This full‑time night shift role leads the unit's nursing team, ensures safe patient care, and partners with physicians and support staff to maintain high standards.

You will mentor staff, drive performance improvement, manage daily operations, and ensure regulatory compliance while fostering professional development and a culture of compassion and excellence.

Qualifications

• RN licensed required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 1+ year nursing leadership in acute care preferred.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Experience with venous access and infusion therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venous access procedures within RN scope, maintaining patient safety.
• Administer and monitor infusion therapy; adjust care plans as needed.
• Assess patient conditions to determine venous access methods and address complications.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for venous access needs.
• Educate patients on venous access and infusion therapy to ensure understanding.
• Monitor nursing staff performance; provide feedback and conduct appraisals.
• Foster staff development through training and mentoring.
• Resolve staff conflicts promptly to maintain team cohesion.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and efficiency.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the healthcare team; mentor new staff.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies.
