Job summary

Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood, MS is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care using the nursing process. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, coordinate with physicians and the care team to achieve optimal outcomes, and support patients and families in a compassionate environment.

This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to administer medications, monitor patients, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
• RN license in good standing and current BCLS certification
• ACLS/PALS preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with organizational policies and the nursing process.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings accurately, reporting changes to the care team.
• Utilizes knowledge of human growth and development to provide age-appropriate care and education.
• Administers prescribed medications, monitors for side effects, and documents administration.
• Assists physicians during procedures within documented competency and skill level.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in life-saving interventions such as CPR.
• Advocates for patients’ rights and ensures understanding of care plans.
• Delivers patient and family education on conditions and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control protocols and safe patient environments.
• Monitors medical equipment and ensures patient safety throughout shifts.
