Job summary

St. Mary’s Hospital - Kankakee is seeking a Registered Nurse for ICU/Critical Care with night shifts on a part-time schedule. The role requires current RN license, BLS/ACLS, and ICU experience with critical care credentials preferred.

You will deliver high-quality patient care, educate families, collaborate with physicians, and ensure privacy and safety across shifts. The facility offers a comprehensive benefits package and sign-on opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice in ICU.
• Direct patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing staff.
• Communicate with physician about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
