Job summary

West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho is seeking a highly skilled ICU Nurse to provide critical care on our intensive care unit. You will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to quality patient care as part of a team.

You will work with monitors, ventilators, and procedures like intubation; collaborate with the critical care team; Idaho RN license required and 1-2 years ICU experience preferred; WVMC is part of HCA Healthcare network

Qualifications

• Current Idaho State RN license in good standing.
• 1-2 years ICU nursing experience preferred.
• Associates degree in nursing; Bachelor preferred.
• BLS/BCLS certification (must obtain within 7 days of hire).
• ACLS certification (must obtain within 90 days of hire).
• PALS certification (must obtain within 90 days of hire).
• CPI (NVCI) certification or obtain within 60 days of date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data.
• Demonstrate decision making, critical thinking and clinical judgment.
• Evaluate and document patient responses to medications, interventions, and procedures.
• Assist in formulation, coordination, and implementation of the patient's Plan of Care.
• Monitor basic EKG, recognize rhythms and intervene as needed.
• Assist the physician with procedures such as intubation, line placement and chest tubes.
• Ensure ventilator, monitors and other equipment are functioning properly and troubleshoot alarms.
• Collaborate with fellow members of the critical care team.
