Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the ICU-Surgical And Neuroscience unit (B2) with a night shift. You will assist with routine patient care, data collection, and basic procedures under RN supervision, contributing to discharge progression and care transitions.

You will support the care team with health monitoring, comfort measures, and documentation, while upholding high ethical standards and patient rights.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• 6 months related experience in a health care setting or completion of certified nurse assistant course and/or experience as a paramedic or emergency technician desired.
• Honest, punctual, and uphold ethical standards per AMC and profession.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient data including vital signs, height/weight, and intake/output.
• Report abnormal findings to the RN and care team.
• Participate in care planning and nursing report process.
• Provide personal care (bathing, oral care, skin care) and assist with feeding, grooming, and toileting.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist with safe patient handling.
