Job summary

Alton Memorial Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking an RN for the Intermedicate Care Unit. The role welcomes new graduates and experienced nurses, with a stable day‑shift schedule and PRN options, including two 12‑hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

The unit features 32 private beds with telemetry and robust support for competency‑based advancement via the BJC RN Career Ladder, plus resources like BJC Bravo and Thrive for well‑being.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; ADN/BSN/MSN eligible.
• Role open to new graduates and experienced RNs.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within standards of nursing care.
• Promotes patient and family centered care and educates on illness management and home care needs.
• Participates in patient safety, quality and regulatory activities and professional development.
• Develops and documents care plans with the interprofessional team and communicates across the continuum of care.
• Assesses physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs and respects cultural and population-specific factors.
