Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Transport Registered Nurse to manage the end-to-end care of Critical Care patients during inter-department transport. You will assess patient needs with sending staff and ensure adherence to hospital standards while delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

The role requires CA RN license, BSN, and BLS/ACLS, with at least one year in a critical care setting. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• All External Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Current California RN License.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification.
• Exercises excellent observation and sound nursing judgement, excellent oral and written communication; Strong interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate care needs.
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision; excellent organizational skills.
• Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation.
• One (1) year nursing experience in Critical Care setting.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Transport Critical Care patients between departments as part of patient care.
• Assess patient needs for transport in coordination with the sending department staff.
• Maintain a high level of quality, service and critical nursing skills during transport.
• Adhere to Regulatory Standards and Fountain Valley Regional Hospital Policies and Procedures.
