Job summary

LocumTenens.com is seeking a physician to provide on-site inpatient critical care coverage in a 10-bed unit in Massachusetts. The assignment features 24-hour shift structure, with day coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on-call from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Board certification is required for eligibility.

The case load typically ranges from 6 to 8 adults per shift. Glidescope is available on site to assist with airway management, and collaboration with ED and Anesthesia is in place to support

Qualifications

• Board certification required
• Inpatient critical care experience preferred
• Ability to work 24-hour shift pattern

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site inpatient critical care coverage on a 24-hour shift structure (7:00-7:00)
• Manage patient census typically 6–8 in a unit with 8 of 10 beds open
• Perform procedures including central lines, arterial lines, thoracentesis, chest tube, and paracentesis
• Assist with airway management; intubation support available from ED/Anesthesia with glidescope in unit
• Coordinate with ED and Anesthesia to support critical care delivery during assignment
