Job summary

University of Miami Hospital & Clinics – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant for full-time shifts (3 x 12 hrs). Responsibilities include hygiene, meals, mobility, vital signs, and patient comfort in a high-acuity setting.

Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid CNA license. Weekend/evening work may be necessary; commitment to team and values is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant healthcare experience.
• Attention to detail in completing assignments.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Discretion handling confidential information.
• Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provides for patients’ personal hygiene and assists with meals and mobility.
• Reports patient conditions to the assigned nurse for professional assessment.
• Maintains safe, clean environment and transports patients/equipment.
• Measures intake/output and records vital signs; assists with mobility.
• Performs basic procedures and supports patient comfort and safety.
• Responds to call lights promptly and safeguards patient dignity.
