The position supports daily patient care within nursing scope and aligns with study protocols.

Qualifications

• Equivalency: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
• Department may hire at Clinical Research Coordinator levels III–V with corresponding experience.
• Clinical Research Coordinator (Non-R.N.) requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years for level III; 8/6 for level IV; 10/8 for level V.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and ensures subject safety during trial.
• Proposes and negotiates protocol alternatives and educates staff on study aspects.
• Performs clinical assessments and monitors participants for adverse events and protocol compliance.
• Applies pharmacological knowledge to interpret results and informs the PI and sponsor.
• Presents related information to the community or other researchers to aid recruitment.
• Mentors and trains new and subordinate staff.
• Develops and maintains study regulatory requirements and logs.
• Maintains source documentation and ensures compliance with GCP, FDA, HIPAA, and IRB.
