Dallas Regional Medical Center is seeking an ICU Charge Nurse for the night shift. The role requires leadership over nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and effective collaboration with the Director and House Supervisor.

Qualified candidates will have an active RN license, BLS/ACLS, and experience in critical care with supervisory responsibilities preferred. A BSN is preferred. This is a full-time position at our 202-bed facility, part of Prime Healthcare, serving the Dallas area.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS on hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year supervisory experience in acute care hospital, ICU setting preferred.
• Minimum of one year staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; Critical Care setting preferred.
• CCRN (AACN) within 2 years of hire, preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• The ICU Charge Nurse is responsible and accountable for the quality of nursing staff and the delivery of patient care during night shifts.
• Provides direct communication with the Director and/or House Supervisor regarding unanticipated patient care events and risk management activities.
• Manages staffing, scheduling, assignments, supervision, and staff education as necessary.
• Assesses supplies and equipment availability, ensures proper use, and maintains par levels.
• Collaborates with other department managers to ensure smooth coordination of services and enhanced patient flow, including admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Assesses patient care delivery and documentation for quality and regulatory adherence; directs staff to modify plans of care as needed.
• Interviews patients/families on admission and during rounds to enhance patient experiences and orientation to the unit.
• The Charge Nurse may perform direct patient care within scope of practice to ensure patient safety and appropriate nurse/patient ratios.
