Job summary

Nazareth Hospital, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Charge Nurse to lead an Intensive Care Unit team on a 12-hour night shift (7:00 pm – 7:30 am) at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. The role requires a BSN or BS/BA in Nursing, PA RN license, and BLS/ACLS as applicable.

Qualifications

• BSN or BS/BA degree in Nursing required.
• Current RN Pennsylvania state license required.
• Current BLS required. ACLS required or obtained by orientation if applicable to area of practice.
• Previous acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide professional nursing services according to standards of practice and policies.
• Maintain area of expertise for care or program and contribute interventions accordingly.
• Advance governance and collaborate with staff, delegating as needed to improve care.
• Participate with unit leadership in development and improvement of processes.
• Facilitate patient flow and enhance teamwork through guidance and support to staff.
• Ensure timely and optimal patient outcomes within defined parameters.
• Assist in development of Service Line initiatives and guide staff through process changes.
• Demonstrate service excellence by keeping patients and colleagues informed about progress and delays.
• Practice stewardship with resources, maintain a clean and hospitable environment, and manage costs and supplies.
• Participate in Shared Governance activities and commit to department operations across shifts.
• Review minutes and obtain reports to stay informed about unit changes.
• Stay informed about changes in the unit, service line, and organization.
