Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is seeking a night shift, full-time Charge Registered Nurse for the ICU.

You will coordinate interdisciplinary teams and take administrative charge in the absence of leadership, ensuring high-quality perioperative care. Ideal candidates hold Kansas RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, with knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and 2+ years of critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Nursing License in the State of Kansas.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
• Has a working knowledge of surgical and aseptic technique.
• Two years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates interdisciplinary teamwork efforts of surgeons, registered nurses, surgical technicians, and ancillary staff in pre- and post-op care of patients undergoing surgical intervention.
• Assume the administrative responsibility of the Center in the absence of the Nurse Manager and Administrator.
• Directs activities within the ASC.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

Current Nursing License in the State of Kansas

BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire

ACLS certification

PALS certification

Working knowledge of surgical and aseptic technique
