Qualifications

• Must hold valid RN license issued by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
• B.S., Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to patient care; NIHSS within 90 days of hire.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients aged 14 to elderly adults.
• Manage medications and IV therapy; safely titrate medications.
• Monitor multiple physiologic systems with equipment (ventilators, ICP drains, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, IABP).
• Support stroke patients with annual education (8 hours/year).
• Supervise nursing practices and participate in care planning as prescribed by physicians.
