Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Santa Fe, NM is seeking a Critical Care Technician to support the Intensive Care Department as a certified and/or licensed technician. You will assist the RN with admissions, monitor patients, and perform unit clerical duties to maintain a safe, organized environment.

Education requirements include a high school diploma (preferred) and a current BLS certification; eligible certifications include CNA, PCT, CMA, EMT, or Paramedic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hospital patient care or acute-care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Must be current in one of: CNA, PCT, CMA, EMT or Paramedic.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of CHRISTUS Health competencies.
• Assists RN with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Observes patient condition and reports changes to the RN.
• Cleans, procures, and returns equipment and supplies.
• Operates patient monitoring equipment and records under RN direction.
• Maintains stock items and unit supplies.
• Performs charting in electronic Health Record.
• Transcribes orders for the patient plan of care timely and accurately.
• Assists with patient care duties including vital signs, hygiene, and communication.
• Adapts patient care to population-specific needs.
• Performs clerical duties including order transcription and interdepartmental requests.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, discharges, and post-procedure patients.
• Retrieves diagnostic test results and communicates to nursing staff.
• Maintains chart accuracy and QA.
