Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Technician II for the ICU to support patient-family care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will perform clinical and clerical tasks, provide basic care, and maintain a safe, clean unit environment.

Responsibilities include vital signs, specimen handling, and patient education, with an emphasis on infection control and safe patient handling. Position requires CNA/BLS/CPR credentials and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nurse Aide or CNA certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CPR certification required if not held at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides care and assistance according to patient care standards, including activities of daily living.
• Adheres to infection control and standard precautions.
• Obtains measurements such as vital signs, body weight, and intake/output.
• Communicates priority orders to the responsible RN or department.
• Prepares supplies and equipment for procedures and assists providers as directed.
• Restocks supplies and inventories patient belongings at admission, transfer, or discharge.
• Acts as a preceptor/mentor for new employees.
