Job summary

Advocate Health’s Charlotte-based Critical Care Rehabilitation team seeks an Exercise Physiologist to support critically ill patients through mobility progression, education, and collaborative care planning. You will work with physicians, nurses, therapists and staff to optimize recovery in the inpatient setting, with a focus on safety and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology.
• No experience is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification within 6 months is requested.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physiological data from stress tests to tailor exercise prescriptions.
• Collaborates with physicians to determine program eligibility and progression.
• Presents a coordinated health education program on exercise and risk factor reduction.
• Develops referrals by building relationships with physicians and nurses.
• Assists in monitoring outpatient cardiac rehabilitation exercises and home program planning.
• Mentors staff pursuing ACSM certification and participates in professional activities.
