Job summary

Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the SAICU critical care team. You will work closely with attending physicians, residents, and the current PA to deliver high-quality care for critically ill surgical patients.

Responsibilities include rounds, coordinating specialty consultations, order placement, procedures, and patient disposition. The role also supports education during ICU rotations, with in-house coverage during evenings and overnight

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a Critical Care or Acute Care NP program with 1 year CRNP experience or a General NP with 1 year CRNP and 5 years ICU nursing experience.
• Current Pennsylvania CRNP license and national advanced practice certification.
• Knowledge of ACLS and BCLS; critical care knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds in SAICU and coordinate consults.
• Assist physicians with orders, procedures, and patient disposition.
• Support resident and medical student education during ICU rotations.
• Provide in-house coverage during high-volume evening hours and participate in overnight call rotations.
