Job summary

Ghafari Associates in Dearborn, MI seeks an Electrical/Telecommunications Engineer to design data networks, CCTV, fire alarm, access control, and wireless LAN for new construction and renovations. Under supervision from the ICT + Security Group, you will develop design documents that meet client requirements and codes.

Responsibilities include creating CAD drawings, coordinating with other disciplines, performing field measurements, maintaining project files, and reviewing submittals to ensure

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 2-6 years related experience in data, telecommunication, fire alarm and security engineering field.
• Revit proficiency required.
• RCDD preferred.

• Provide CAD support to more senior staff.
• Communicate and work with all other disciplines to produce coordinated construction documents.
• Conduct field measuring and checking at project site.
• Maintain organized project file containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference materials, etc.
• With assistance, edit project specifications.
• Review project submittals (shop drawings) for conformance with contract documents; specify action required for conformance.

Job Description:General Summary:With direct supervision from Director, ICT + Security Group or senior staff, provide design for telecommunications, LAN, CCTV, fire alarm, access control, and wireless LAN for new construction and/or renovation of industrial or commercial structures in conformance to client requirements and applicable codes.Essential Job Functions:Possess / demonstrate the engineering knowledge and understanding to design or analyze data, telecommunication, fire alarm and security systems for the design and installation, of data, telecommunications, fire alarm and security systems/networks using applicable BICSI, ANSI/TIA/EIA guidelines and NFPA -72.Prepare working drawings for construction on CAD system.
